To be Mimicked

Today I busted out Olivia's little table and chairs and set her up for some coloring. I sat down at the dining room table with my bible study ready to go. Olivia and I sat on the same side of our perspective tables. I had my coffee in tow and Olivia then insisted on a sippy cup. I opened up my bible study and started. I looked over at Olivia and she had a crayon in her mouth! We went through the whole idea of not eating crayons. A few moments later, crayon in the mouth. I went to reprimand her again and in the middle of "no, Olivia" I started laughing. My pen was in MY mouth!! oops. I wonder where she gets that from. Not even a minute later, I catch her coloring in her book. Again..."we color on paper, not in our books." I go back to my bible study and look at the first page, glaring with passages that have been underlined, notes in the margin. Shoot. I wonder where Olivia got that idea! Apparently I missed the lesson about no crayons in the mouth and coloring on paper not in the books.

Sleepy Head

The other day I went into Olivia's room during nap time to get something and this is what I found. Apparently, she fell out of bed during the course of napping and didn't wake up! She woke up later thoroughly confused why she was on the floor and asked to be put back in her bed so she could continue her nap. What a silly girl.

A Year in Review

As I reflect on this past year, I am just in awe of how blessed we are and what God has done in our lives. It has been a challenging year with a lot of changes and transitions, but it has been very rewarding. Chris and I celebrated 3 years of marriage, Olivia's first birthday, my 27th, and Chris 30th birthday. We moved 1000 miles and welcomed our son into our lives and family. Here are some of my favorite pictures and memories from 2008.

I hope that 2008 was as wonderful a year for you as it was for us. May 2009 be a blessed year full of life and joy.

With Love,
Kayte

Christmas 2008

We had a great morning opening presents and playing with Olivia and Josh. Liv had a blast tearing open the gifts. She seemed to enjoy the paper and opening things better than the actual presents. But she soon figured out the the toys were better after all. Josh was pretty entertained by the all the wrappings as well.

My family came over in the afternoon. Olivia got more presents. At this point she was a pro and new exactly what to do with them. Ripped them all right open. We had the traditional turkey dinner with all the sides. Super yummy. Schwartz Christmas tradition dictates we watch the movies we got for Christmas. So I put in my 'new' Christmas movie "The Muppet's Christmas Carol", only to discover that my family decided they wanted to watch it the night before and couldn't find their movie. So Mom opened my gift and opened my movie and they watched it! Thanks! :)

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas too!

Winter Wonderland

We have had quite the winter here. Matt and I took Olivia out to play in the snow last week, before the temperature dipped to single digits with wind chill. Yikes! That's cold!
